COSTS AND HOW TO PAY:

The total cost per student is €300.00; GEAL members benefit from a 10% discount. The amount of €100.00 is due with the enrolment, the remainder should be paid until August 22nd. In the improbable case of GEAL - Museu da Lourinhã having to cancel the workshop, the enrolment value paid will be refunded. Drop offs and no-shows will not be refunded. Receipts will be provided.

ENROLMENT:

The number of seats is limited to 24. There are a few setas left. Students can enrol by sending an e-mail to:

with the following information:

• Full name
• NIF or other fiscal ID number (for the receipt)
• e-mail address
• Postal address
• Mobile phone and, optionally, an alternate fixed phone number
• Name and contact of a person to be reached in emergency situations
• Payment proof (scan of money transfer order or similar)

INSURANCE:

Insurance is not provided.

ACCOMODATION AND FOOD:

Students can, at no additional cost, sleep in the gym and use the shower facilities of the Casa do Povo complex, in Lourinhã.

Food is not included, however there are several restaurants and supermarkets nearby.

REQUIRED AND OPTIONAL DRAWING MATERIALS:

The following list of drawing items is suggested:

• sheets of tracing paper ( vellum ) A3 format or 35 x 50
• sheets of extra strong paper A4-A3 format
• sheets for drawing 220 gr. A3 format or 35 x 50 (rough and smooth)
• sheets for drawing A3 format or 35 x 50 heavy (cardboard paper, for instance Schoeller or Canson)
• graphite paper (for tracing)
• pencils, graphite, HB - B - 2B ....
• micromina, graphite, HB 0.5
• Bloodypencil and other colors of your choice
• white rubber and putty rubber (kneaded eraser) and other kind of eraser of your choice
• pencil sharpener
• surgical scalpel
• scotch tape and removable scotch tape
• big clean brush for the cleaning
• ruler and team

Optionaly:

• acrilic colors in tube; suggested colors: titanium white - ivory black - burnt sienna - magenta - cadmium yellow - ultramarine blue - blue cyano - raw umber
• pointed brushes (better if made by Marten) different shapes from n° 1 , 3, 5,.... your choice

Students can bring additional materials.

If possible, students should bring a laptop computer with Photoshop® installed. If the student does not have a Photoshop license a test version will be provided.

The workshop will be held at Lounrinhã's Secondary School (Escola Secundária da Lourinhã - ESL), Vale Geões – 2534-909 Lourinhã, Portugal.

HOW TO GET TO LOURINHÃ

Best airport for arrival: Lisbon.
The vilage of Lourinhã is located about 74 Km (46 mi) north of Lisbon, almost on the coast. The lowest cost way to get to Lourinhã is by bus.

From the Lisbon Airport, by bus:

Take a taxi to the Bus Terminal located at the Sete-Rios area (Terminal Rodoviário da Rede Expressos see www.rede-expressos.pt/).

You can also take the CARRIS BUS #31 (direction Av. José Malhoa) from the airport to the Rede Expressos bus terminal (see www.carris.pt/pt/autocarro/31/ascendente/default/ ). The terminal is 15 bus stops from the airport.

If you are elsewhere in Lisbon, the Rede Expressos terminal is easily reachable by underground. Exit at the JARDIM ZOOLOGICO (the ZOO) station, on the BLUE line (see www.metrolisboa.pt).

Once at the Rede Expressos terminal buy a ticket to LOURINHÃ, the cost is about €7,70. A valid student card entitles you to a 10% discount.

From the Lisbon Airport, by car:

We strongly suggest you get directions from a site, for instance yahoo or Michelin. Here is a good search: maps.yahoo.com

As a general guideline, the Lisbon Airport is located not too far away from the beginning of the A8 highway. Take highway A8 northbound. Take Exit 8 and follow signs to Lourinhã.
